Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my website!

The Amish are a sect of people (I consider them a cult) that  are
heavily populated in the Midwest and Eastern States.

The Amish church was started when Jacob Ammon and a group of
followers were dissatisfied with the Mennonite church and started
their own Church with stricter rules.

As a general rule a community is governed by the Bishop, two
ministers and a deacon who rule the community by an Ordnungs
Brief  (set of rules in a letter ) that has been passed down from
generation to generation. The Ordnungs Brief gets updated every six
months by the ministry.

Some of them drive horses and buggies and others are more liberal
and drive cars. Most but not all are allowed to hire someone to drive
them to town or visit out of state family. A few communities do not
use telephones, electricity and other modern conveniences.

There are different sets of rules for each community. Not all are as
rigid or strict as others. Quite a few communities might have one or
two small things (such as the width of the pleats or folds in their
dresses or Caps might be 1/4th of an wider or narrower) that are
different from there neighboring communities.

Nearly all of the Amish dress differently from the outside world,
wearing homemade clothes made strictly according to the
Ordnungs Brief. Men wear the wide brimmed hats and women wear
bonnets.
